Man begs court to dissolve his marriage as his wife beats him at will

Toafeek Giwa a recent retiree from the Nigerian prison service begged the Idi-ogungun Customary Court in Agodi- Ibadan to dissolve his seven years marriage with Abiodun Omotayo because she beats him at will. He stated that she overpowers him because she is bigger than him and has turned him into her punching bag. She batters him at the slightest provocation and tears up his clothes. He alleged that she has also tried to poison him by putting poison in his food and the marriage should be dissolve because he does not want to die yet and wants to enjoy the fruit of his hard work now that he has retired.

The accused wife denied all his claims and stated that she was the one that was rather battered by her husband as he usually pursued her with a machete. she however agreed that the marriage should be dissolved because she was tired of leaving with the plaintiff who she accused of being adulterous and causing her grief.
