In Benue state women bare their breast in support of anti-open grazing laws
The Benue state government on Wednesday enacted laws that bans herdsmen against indiscriminate grazing in the state. This law was enacted to prevent further loss of lives and properties and community clashes that has ensued between the community members and herdsmen.
Nearly 2000 women took to the street to support the anti-open grazing laws. Some elderly women bared their breast in support of this long awaited bill. Though the herdsmen have vowed to resist the law as it might not largely favor them.
This shows how women can support growth and peace in their community. I hope this law curtails large extent the unrest and community clashes in the state.
