Oby Ezekwesili is the first African Woman on Africa Forbes Woman in 'Against the Odds with Pea
Against the Odds with Peace Hyde is a Forbes Tv program that aims to interview African Women who have achieved one feat or the other in advancing their economy. This would be the second season with Peace Hyde. The first season was titled " My Worst Day" where they interviewed Femi Otedola, Aliko Dangote, Tonye Cole, Folurunsho Alakija etc on their thrive in businesses, their worst days and how they bounced back after such days. This much anticipated season debuts with Oby Ezekwesili , the renowed activist in Nigeria, one of the pioneers of the Bring Back our Girls Campaign.
In this interview, she spoke about how many things are swept under and how corruption is rottening development in Nigeria. Oby Ezekwesili said prior to the Chibok girls 26 boys were burnt alive in schools in Borno State but the news was aired for a while and then everything was on the hush and life continued as usual. She remembered wondering how everyone could just move on from that disaster and then 2 months after the same sect kidnapped over 250 girls from a school in Chibok in the same state. This stirred up the urge to demand that government put an end to the menace and that the Chibok girls be found and brought back. Month after month, Year after year, they persevered admist the twist and turns , the insults and assaults and they would not give up until all the girls are found and these anormallies corrected in the society. She admonished that the greatest resources of a nation is not what they have on ground or what the soil can produce but human resources.
