240 Children Die of Starvation in IDP Camps in Brono
A humanitarian aid group, Doctors without Broder also known as Medicine Sans Frontiers (MSF), disclosed that records from January to May show that over 240 Children have died as a result of Malnutrition in IDP camps and within the communities in Borno State. The emergency officer of the group Moctar Abari stated this in an interview with NAN on Monday.
According to him, after conducting a malnutrition screening test for 547,626 children, about 12,161 were malnourished children were treated in the by the group, 24, 855 were enrolled into feeding programs where the organization donated 6,971 foodstuffs and 5, 932 consumables. MSG have registered 140,679 mothers for antenatal care, 72, 955 Children were vaccinated against polio. One of the objective of the organization is to deliver emergency health care delivery services to areas prone to and affected by disasters.
