Mal. Nasir El-Rufai Governor Kaduna State Urges Men to Support Family Planning and Pledges Support f

As Nigeria celebrates World Population  Day, Mallam Nasiru  El- Rufai Executive Governor of Kaduna State urged Men to Support Family Planning and women to embrace Family  planning  and child  spacing to boost economic  growth and reduce infant and mortality rate. In his message to the people of Kaduna State,  he emphasized on the need of Family  planning  to enable both woman and child become economically productive and attain their full potentials.

The governor further stated that his administration supports girl child education and has introduced various schemes  to enable the girl child go to school and achieve optimium growth including; free education,  school feeding programs,  equipping and renovating 255 schools and primary health centres. Also, sponsoring of 30 female Medical students abroad with plans to extend the scheme to Cuba to send 30 more students from now till 2019. He stated that the aim is to educate every boy/girl in Kaduna State to earn a living and escape the claws of poverty. 

He ended his speech  with a quote from Professor Babatunde Osotimehin the late Executive Director of UNFPA which says " For all women to reach their full potentials and be economically productive,  they must be able to exercise their right to decide for themselves whether, when and how often to have children ". Emphasizing that upholding this right would yield greater economic progress and productivity
