Kaduna Conflicts and The Women's Protest

There are growing concerns about series of conflicts in Kaduna State , with remarkable loss of lives during these conflict. Most of these conflicts are between herdsmen and the rural dwellers and it is gradually creeping into the city of Kaduna.  On Wednesday 18/07/2017 about  37 people were killed in Kajuru Local government area of the state as reported by Cable Ng. This clash happened between the framers and the herdsmen. Reports state that a herdsmen was killed for aggravating the youths and other herdsmen retaliated. Following the clash,  there were series of clashes between the herdsmen and the youths. 

This clash is one out of many that has been reported within the year and it is becoming unsettling  as farmers are unable to plant their crops and herdsmen  are unable to cohabit with these farmers in peace. I recall  that in 2016 some women in Kaduna came out naked to protest against the various killings and conflicts going on in the state read it here .  However these clashes seem to be escalating depriving residents of peaceful and safe habitation. 

The Acting president Professor Yemi Osibanjo has vowed to prosecute the perpetrators of these acts , he noted that end in the crisis in Ka duna State has become a concern to the federal government. He further ordered that security be tightened in Kaduna State. Hope that these conflicts come to an end.
